Latkes for Santa Claus #christmastreelanebookreview

I was recently asked to do a book review on this delightful children's book called Latkes for Santa Claus by Janie Emaus and illustrated by Bryan Langdo. It was gifted to me for promising to do the review, even though all opinions about the story and illustrations are my own.

I have several nieces and nephews who love being read to, and this book came at the perfect time for sharing it with them.  It is a wonderful book.  A quick summary:

Anna grew up celebrating Hanukkah, but her mom recently married and he and his son, Michael, celebrated Christmas.  For the first time, they are celebrating both, together.  Michael, the expert on celebrating Santa, shares his ideas for the perfect treat for Santa, while Anna wants to share a treat from Hanukkah.  Some of her ideas won't work, as Santa can't carry it with him to his sled.  The illustrations are priceless, the looks between characters and the luscious treats are visual "treats" themselves.

I adore that this book has recipes in the back for families to try as well.  What a wonderful holiday memory and one that can become a tradition.  Give this book as a gift soon, especially to those families who are trying to combine cultures and families.  The book has an adorable, happy ending for you, and for Santa!
