The Christmas Notebook is Out!

American card, circa 1940Image via Wikipedia

I have my Christmas Notebook out and am ready to start adding pages for the 2010 year.  I have started my Christmas Gift Buying Page (I already have several gifts purchased) and have scheduled our Christmas card photo session.  I love our photo cards and part of the fun of the Christmas Notebook is to see how everyone has changed over the years.

Lots of people ask about my Christmas Notebook.  I did a post that will explain the general organization of it here.  For me, though, the most fun is looking through the notebook each year, reading our past Christmas letters, seeing our photo cards and looking at my thoughts from the end of the holiday as to what I want to change for this year.

My Christmas Notebook is not fancy.  One day I would like to preserve it so that it is a piece that is handed down through the generations.  It does do the job of keeping things together!

  2. SQUEAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Your notebook is SO special, going back over the years! I have done one every year since the late 80s,but it was more just notes and such, nothing fancy til we all started doing journals on GLU....and I have yet to finish one completely! And very few pics....just lots of journaling and scraps of this and that.

Yours is truly worthy of passing down to your grandbabies!

  3. What a great idea. The kids are always growing and changing. I have kept letters to santa but have them stuffed in a box. This idea would be great!

  4. What a great idea. I save all my Christmas cards from each year, dating the back of the largest one and storing them in a box. I journal any way and this Christmas notebook would be so neat to compile and have from year to year. Favorite recipes enjoyed can be noted also. Great post.

  5. I keep a notebook too about Christmas and I include where I have stored all of my decorations, things I want to change up a bit for next season, things I bought on clearance after Christmas, a list of what I spend on who, a Christmas card list, recipes and a shopping list, a decorating schedule and a guest list for parties.
I can't acutally recall how long I have done this but i needed to do it for some degree of organization because my 2 son's birthdays are also in December!!! Yikes!! So that meant Birthday parties too!!!
