We adore cream cheese in our family and like to see it in our apps.  We like a combination of cold and hot apps and this is a cold one with a little heat!  You decide if it will be mild or knock-your-momma's-socks-off hot!

Cream Cheese and Salsa in Pastry Cups

Cream cheese appetizers in pastry cups with little pieces of pepperoncini on top

1 pkg of 15 premade and prebaked pastry cups
2 T salsa, your choice of heat
4 oz cream cheese, softened
4 T chopped cooked sausage or cooked hamburger
3 rings of pepperoncini for decoration
1 T garlic powder

Remove cups from the freezer, open, and set aside.  In a medium bowl, combine cream cheese, salsa, meat, and garlic powder. Stir well.  Spoon into cups, about 3/4 of a teaspoon each.  Top with a tiny piece of the pepperoncini.  Serve cold or at room temperature.

My family adored these one-bite treats. You might need to double the recipe!
